Thanks for making the effort to come into work today!
Any chance you could possibly look at an answering service (BT can do one) that you can change the outgoing message to incorporate such possible closures as the telephone line was very busy (your poor staff!) this morning with people enquiring about this. This can be done/accessed from home at any time and could possibly relieve some parents of the 'is it/isn't it?' scenario.

I look forward to digging my car out again tomorrow!
