Year 3 Geordie day

On Friday 4th December, Year 3 had a GEORDIE DAY!
Since September the theme we have been studying is Our local area. So to celebrate everything we have learnt, we decided to have this very special day!
The children were involved in learning some geordie slang and trying to speak it at various points during the day, creating a geordie dictionary, looking at geordie recipes, singing some geordie songs and they were also very lucky to have a talk from a real georide miner!
The children and y3 teachers were also dressed up for the occasion, I must say that the children all looked fabulous! Thank you to all the parents who helped make their child look like a true geordie!
The children and teachers thoroughly enjoyed their geordie day and it was impressive seeing how much they children had remembered from their lessons!

Poppy Littlemore says "I enjoyed listening to the miner because he was funny."
Daniel Preece says "We learnt a song called the Blaydon races, it was very fun doing it."
Anna Ryle says "We learnt the Geordie dictionary and some of the words were funny. Some of us spoke geordie on the yard at playtime!"
