Year 5 Campaign off to Perfect Start

The Year 5 football team got their quest for honours off to a superb start on Thursday at a bitterly cold Gateshead Stadium. It was the group stages of the Gateshead Felling FA knockout cup and Oakfield were drawn in the same group as South Street, Windy Nook and Kells Lane. Conditions were tricky as the gale force wind blew straight down the pitch making it hard to pass the ball against it. This didn’t stop the team recording an excellent 2-0 win against South Street with Lewis McNall and Aaron Sutton scoring.
Next up were Kells Lane and the team moved up a gear with a 4-0 ‘derby’ win. Aaron Sutton with 2, Lewis McNall found the net, with an own goal making it four.
The final game saw us overcome the challenge of Windy Nook 3-0 with goals from Jamie Johnson, Jack Fisher-Dias and another own goal. In all three games all ten players performed wonderfully, passing and moving superbly and showing the fight needed to win. Well done all involved, see you at the final!!!
