WELCOME BACK

Welcome back and welcome to our new parents for another action packed academic year.

The first day started with Cedar taking some training in First Aid to recieve their 'Young First Aider' certificate, which lasts for three years. Birch completed their training on the second day. Well done to our Year 6's!

All of our class teachers are busy organising school trips for their classes for the Autumn term, so watch this space to see where they are going!

Once again our children will be attending Heworth CLC over October and November to take part in a variety of highly motivating activities. Year 3 will be doing some animation work, Year 4 Digital Music, Year 5 Control Technology and Year 6 Lego Robotics. Thank you to all staff at Heworth CLC for helping to oraganise this for us.

School councillors have now been chosen after a campaign, manifesto and voting system. Their first task is to take place next week when they meet a man from a company dealing with school yards and playground equipment. Here the children will have a chance to explain what they want and talk through some options with him. Good Luck!

Year 6 school Buddies have been interviewed this week, after filling in an application form to become one. Jobs have now been allocated and Buddies will commence on Monday morning. Training off Mr Davidson will follow in the next few weeks to give them ideas on games and how to involve all children.

Years 4, 5 and 6 have also been to Low Fell library this week to complete the 'Reading Challenge' which began before the summer holidays. Well Done to everybody who took part.
