Year 6 Mystery/Ghost Stories
We saw the big old tree, it swayed in the wind, the smell of burnt wood hung in the air. My heart was pounding as I eased myself around the tree, and there it was .Silence struck me and covered me like a blanket . The Things illuminous eyes struck me then small green snakes as thin as a pen flung out of the Things mouth, one at a time .It glistened like wet leather , ungovernable terror gripped me as the Thing came out of the perfectly black bush.
The Thing grew bigger and bigger until it came to a stop. I tried to run, but it was too late….

We saw the big old tree. There was an illuminous green glow coming from behind the tree, as I slowly glanced up to the top of the tree I couldn’t believe it. I could hear a mumbling sound getting louder and louder. There was a burnt smell drifting across the garden from next door. I felt scared.
As I glanced up the top of the tree again, I gasped, there it was. A green rounded sort of thing. What did it want with us? It had something in its’ hands, it looked like a person. We were all stood there, silent, and then it spoke….
I pushed myself back. Even my little sister was silent. It jumped. It hit the ground with a ringing concussion. It slowly but steadily came towards us. What had we done?

Emily, great story. I even felt nervous all the way down here in Africa. Keep up the good work.
