Year 6 MP Visit

Clelland 4 Oakfield!

Yr 6 was learning about democracy as part of a citizenship program. They were given the opportunity to meet and interview the MP of Tyne Bridge, Mr David Clelland.

He answered many intriguing questions and explained the role of his exasperating job. He told us that democracy was the process whereby the nation makes decisions for themselves. Normally they go by the majority of the peoples’ votes, but sometimes the Government have to make the choice themselves because there might be a tie.

Yr 6 also noted that Mr Clelland travels to parliament Monday-Thursday to make important decisions with current Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
Yr 6 loved asking David Clelland about his job and what he does for a living.
