Remembrance Day

On Sunday children from Oakfield attended a memorial service at the war memorial on Low Fell. One pupil from Year 6, Victoria, wrote out the card which was attached to the poppy wreath and another 2 pupils, James and Hannah, had the great honour of placing the wreath onto the memorial itself. Other children and families came along and joined in the service including the 2 minute silence.

I was very proud that pupils from our school were there representing the younger generation, standing alongside war veterans.

Thank you to everyone for giving up your time on a Sunday.

Well done the year 6 pupils!!!
