Our 40th Anniversary
Well what a celebration!
Happy Birthday Oakfield Juniors.
We had a whole school assembly this morning, where each class or year group sang a song which was released in 1967. Old teachers and governors attended the assembly and had a look around to see how much school had changed.
3T sang 'Respect' and 3S sang 'Puppet on a String.'
4D/R sang the Monkees theme tune and 4R sang 'I'm a Believer'
Year 5 both sang a different song from the musical Oliver. 5P/T sang 'Oom pah pah' and 5B sang 'Consider yourself.'
Year 6 performed as a year group and sang 'I Get By with a Little Help From My Friends' by the Beatles and their second song was 'Ain't No Mountain High Enough' by Marvin Gaye.
A special thank you to Mrs Brown who wrote the special 40 Years Ago song, which we all performed as a whole school.
All of the children and staff got dressed for the occassion in their 60's clothes. Thank you to everyone, parents, children and staff for making such an effort. It added to the enjoyment.
Here are some pictures for you to see and enjoy!!!
